Library conference: Herbsttagung der Bibliotheken der CPT-Sektion

The librarians from the Max Planck Institutes of the CPT section hold a meeting each year in autumn. This year the Fritz Haber Institute will host the meeting in the Richard Willstätter house from November 22nd-23th, 2011.

Due to this conference the library office is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday (November 22nd-23th). We will already organise and prepare a lot of things on Monday, so that you will not catch us at the library office all day.

The Falling Walls conferences are an annualy event with twenty of the world’s leading scientists presenting their current breakthrough research.

At this year’s conference (November 9th) Robert Schlögl was one of the forward thinking individuals breaking down walls in science. He held a talk with the title Breaking the Wall of Energy Supply. How Heterogeneous Catalysis Can Replace Fossil Fuels (starting at 29:07 min).

Building for research

A new broschure with the title Building for research : the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society in Berlin and its buildings 1911 – 2011 is published. You’ll find it in the new aquisitions section.
