October 21 – 25, 2013

Today starts the International Open Access Week themed “redefining impact”.
We gladly provide you support regarding publishing in open access journals [internal] and open access repositories, with a focus on PubMan. We have prepared some material including brochures, flyers and sweeties. Up to 25th October you will find the information desk in the library.

During this week you will find here everyday some tools, videos, projects, and further information. Today we will start with some useful sites:

“The DOAJ aims to be comprehensive and cover all open access scientific and scholarly journals that use a quality control system to guarantee the content. In short, the DOAJ aims to be THE one stop shop for users of open access journals.” (http://www.doaj.org/doaj?uiLanguage=en)

OpenDOAR is an authoritative directory of academic open access repositories. […] OpenDOAR lets you seatch for repositories or search repository contents.”(http://www.opendoar.org/)

RoMEO is a searchable database of publisher’s policies regarding the self- archiving of journal articles on the web and in Open Access repositories. […] Please note that general use of the terms pre-print and post-print can vary: these lists follow accepted definitions for self-archiving purposes. These listings are primarily for the use of the academic research community and any information given is from this perspective.” (http://www.sherpa.ac.uk/romeo/index.php?la=en&fIDnum=|&mode=simple)
