New Open Access Agreement with MDPI

The Max Planck Society and the Swiss Open Access publisher MDPI (Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute) have signed an open access agreement. Max Planck corresponding authors can publish open access at no costs to themselves in MDPI journals.

MDPI is an academic open access publisher based in Basel, Switzerland, which publishes 150 peer-reviewed scientific journals.

Open Access Journal on Photonics

APL Photonics BildThe American institute of Physics (AIP) has launched a new authoritative open-access peer-reviewed journal. APL Photonics covers all areas within the field of photonics like quantum optics and cryptography, novel materials and engineered structures, nonlinear optics and nanophotonics as well as physics of light sources.

The International Year of Light started to tribute the global significance of light-based technologies.

Issues of the Journal will come at spring 2016.
