SciFinder Online Workshops in October 2020

A new series of SciFinder Online Workshops are starting next week:

Mo, October 12 – Text Searching
Tue, October 13 – Structure & Reaction Searching
Tue, October 13 – Retrosynthesis Background & Advanced Features
Wed, October 14 – Searching Biological Topics
Fri, October 16 – Polymer Searching & New Materials

Attendance is free of charge for staff and guests of the Max Planck Society, but online registration is required. All workshops last 60 minutes.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, MPG researchers have the opportunity to use SciFindern until the end of 2020. Therefore, this SciFinder trainings will focus on SciFinder-n. Please note that CAS plans to discontinue SciFinder in the future.

Online Workshop on Reference Management Systems
Friday, 29 May 2020 – 10:15 am

This course explains what reference management systems (also known as bibliographic or citation management software) are, why they are useful for any kind of research, and what to look out for when considering the use of one of the numerous available bibliographic management applications. The two systems, EndNote and Mendeley, are demonstrated as examples.
