Journal Citation Reports now part of InCites

From now on the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) and the Essential Science Indicators (ESI) are available via the InCites platform. Thomson Reuters will merge all bibliometric evaluation tools into this new platform. Furthermore, the data from JCR (“View Journal Information”) and ESI (“Highly Cited Icon”) has been integrated more prominently into the Web of Science.

SciELO Available in Web of Science Now

The SciELO Citation Index (Scientific Electronic Library Online) has been enabled in the Web of Science.

It includes:

  • Nearly 650 journal titles from Latin America, Spain, Portugal, the Caribbean and South Africa
  • Over 4 million cited references
  • Open access with links to full text through the SciELO site

Additional information regarding the SciELO Citation Index can be found at http://wokinfo.com/products_tools/multidisciplinary/scielo/

Inspec: Find Literature in Physics and Engineering

Inspec, updated weekly, is produced by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (formerly IEE). The database provides access to the scientific and technical literature in the following disciplines from 1898 onwards:

  • physics
  • electrical and electronic engineering
  • computing
  • information technology
  • control engineering
  • manufacturing
  • production and mechanical engineering

Nearly 5000 journals and 2500 conference publications as well as reports, dissertations, books and scientific videos are scanned each year.

All Inspec data is supplemented by special subject indexing (including Controlled Index Terms, Chemical and Numerical Data) for more accurate retrieval.

You may access Inspec by two ways:
via Web of Science or
via STNeasy.

Find an introduction video at YouTube (by Web of Science Training).

Web of Science Relaunch: January 2014

Web of Science has launched a newly redesigned website and has renamed it. The Web of Knowledge is now simply the Web of Science.

Underneath the new Web of Science platform, you find the Web of Science Core Collection including the Science Citation Index. While the name was realigned, the data, search functionality, alerts and links did not change.

The full record data elements have a new layout. All links to related research are summarized in the Citation Network panel (on the right).
