Die Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) weist in einem aktuellen Newsletter darauf hin, wie unerlässlich die Vergabe von standardisierten, offenen Lizenzen für Open-Access-Publikationen ist, um die möglichst umfassende Nachnutzung wissenschaftlicher Inhalte rechtsverbindlich abzusichern.

Withdraw New Model Licenses

The Association of Scientific, Technical and Medical Publishers has released a set of model licenses for research articles which are not compatible with any of the Creative Commons licenses. A global coalition of organizations call on the STM to withdraw these new model licenses:

Creative Commons Version 4.0

A new version of the Creative Commons license has been released. The Creative Commons organization has incorporated dozens of improvements. So they use an easier terminology that is better understood worldwide now. In addition they have introduced official translations of the Creative Commons licenses.
