Frontiers launches new Open Access Journals

Frontiers, founded in 2007, is an open access publisher based in Switzerland. The current repertoire of 12 online journals covering academic fields in the life sciences has been supplemented by some new open access journals in the fields of chemistry and physics. At Frontiers, peer-reviewed articles appear under a Creative Commons CC-BY license, so that authors retain their copyright.

The Max Planck Society and Frontiers already signed a publishing cooperation agreement last November. Here is an extract from the press release:

[…] all publication charges for research articles submitted by authors affiliated with any Max Planck Institute will be directly and fully funded by the Max Planck Society. This institutional agreement is valid for all current and future Frontiers journals.

Among the 13 new journals are:
Frontiers in Chemistry
Frontiers in Energy
Frontiers in Physics
