The Max Planck Society supports SciPost Physics Journals. SciPost is an open access platform being managed by researchers and completely free of charge for readers and authors. Preprint handling and circulation occurs through arXiv, it’s a so called „overlay journal“.

Springer Nature has expanded its portfolio of open access journals:

The journals will be online-only and publish open access content under a CC-BY license. They are now open for submissions.
Open Access Journal by the European Optical Society
Journal of the European Optical Society-Rapid Publications is now part of SpringerOpen.
The Max Planck Society has a central agreement with Springer. Therefore, all articles from MPS authors (corresponding author) accepted by SpringerOpen journals are centrally paid by the Max Planck Society.
Open Access Spectrum Evaluation Tool
The Open Access Spectrum Evaluation Tool analyzes journals’ open access policies and scores their degrees of openness. It is an independent measuring tool supported by a number of scholarly communication organizations (e.g. SPARC).

‘RSC Advances’ is Going Open Access
The RSC journal RSC Advances will move to gold open access in January 2017. The journal was launched in 2011 and covers all areas of the chemical sciences.
The article processing charges will be discounted for the first two years.
